It was a massively humbling experience joining the exclusive club that is the acorns. Meeting some astonishingly talented individuals from right across the sector including HR, hotel,  restaurants and contract catering.  To be put up alongside some of the industries now most established names, and to see the future talent within hospitality gives me nothing but excitement for a forever evolving and growing industry.

The foundation of the British hospitality industry is all about nurturing and coaching the stars of the future and The Acorn Awards are to epitome of this. To be awarded such a prestigious honour by The Caterer, a bastion of hospitality in this country is one of my greatest achievements to date. The weekend itself, with the brilliant ACT Clean team, was a wonderful experience and a huge amount of fun. Getting to know so many other inspiring individuals from the entire spectrum of the industry, hearing their own diverse career paths and aims for the future made me feel part of a special group. I have no doubt the Acorn Award will be only the start and can only hope we can help inspire Acorn Winners in the future.

Winning an Acorn Award is one my proudest moments and the winner’s weekend is one I will never forget. Having seen how much young talent is out there in this industry, to be considered as one of the 30 under 30 was a huge achievement. Heading out to the weekend I was nervous as I didn’t know what it would be like, but the weekend was so much fun from start to finish and everyone there was so lovely.
